I’m Rebecca, the illustrator behind The Bear Haus.
Trained as a graphic designer, I’ve worked in the creative industry for more years than I care to add up! My early career shaped how I see the world around me, being drawn to colour, form and space, and bolsters everything I create.
My illustration is rooted in the quiet details of the natural world — plants, landscapes, and the rhythms of nature in our surroundings. I create prints, cards and textiles designed to bring a sense of calm and a connection to nature into daily life.
I always start with observation. My morning runs tend to include multiple stops to capture a cherry blossom or tree branch to my cameral roll. Inspiration is never far away. Sketches come from a moment of stillness before my pencil or brush hits my sketchbook and then I flow. My illustrations take shape by combining organic forms and clean lines, creating a balance between simplicity and detail.
The Bear Haus is a curated collection of pieces made by my hand to be lived with and enjoyed. Bringing a little bit of the outside into your home.
